Trek Ride the Best Demo this weekend. Saturday and Sunday from 10am-3pm. Trek will have their demo fleet out at Swanson Park in Bellevue. Available to ride will the the NEW Trek Madone, and Trek Fuel EX 9.5's will be there for your amusument. Also in attendence will be the NEW Gary Fisher HiFi 29er and Paragon 29er. So come on out to 34th and Cornhusker and see how Trek is revolutioninzing the biking world.


Also on Sunday the second installment of the MetrO! Mountain Bike Challenge will be held. Challenge yourself on one of the most popular trails in the metro area. Join us for the second event of the MetrO! Mountain Bike Challenge at Swanson Park in Bellevue, Nebraska. The Midwest Cycling Community has put together an event for the whole family.


Entry Fee: $10, each participant gets a FREE pair of socks and waterbottle, as well as an event goodie bag. Better yet, mom or dad rides free with each registered child!


Event Categories, Distance and Prizes:
Beginner Men, Women and Juniors (age 13-18) ~ 1 Lap

Intermediate Men, Women ~ 2 Laps

Advanced Men and Women ~ 3 laps

Kids (under 12) short course (ages 4-8) & long course (ages 9-12)

Prizes awarded to the top three finishers in each category


Course: The Swanson course features wide and narrow singletrack over rolling terrain. Swanson is one of the most popular trails in the metro area and is a great trail for riders of all ages and abilities.


Directions: From I-80, take Hwy. 75 (Kennedy Freeway) south to Cornhusker Road. Turn right and head west, Swanson Park is located on the north side of Cornhusker Road between 25th St. and 36th St. in Bellevue NE. The entrance is well marked into the park,just look for the Bellevue Volunteer Fire Dept Training Facility entrance. Turn in and take your first left into the Swanson Park parking lot.

The Highgear family got a little bigger.


Miah and Kate Sommer are the proud parents of a baby boy. Henry James Sommer was brought into this world at 12:30pm on June 25, 2007. He was a little over 6 1/2 lbs. and 19 inches. All are doing well.
