If you did not already know, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. For the 2nd year in a row, Trek is sponsoring a National Breast Cancer Awareness Ride on October 13th. Many Trek stores throughout the country are hosting this ride at the same time and will raise thousands of dollars to help find a cure. Last year we had the biggest turn out of any store in the country, so The Highgear and Trek Bicycle Stores of Omaha along with the Midwest Cycling Community invites you for the 2nd year to join us; whether you have a mountain bike, hybrid, fixed gear, tri bike, road bike, recumbent, or even a unicycle, we want you on this ride. We are planning two routes this year, 10 and 25 miles, to incorporate all types of riders and bikes. Men, women, and children are all encouraged to attend. There is a registration fee and all of the money goes to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. You can still make a donation if you are unable to join us on the ride. Trek has developed a website to help promote the ride and your participation which links directly to Active.com for online registration.
