Winter Activities to Keep You Warm & Smart

This Fall / Winter season will be jammed packed with fun activities at Highgear Bicycle Store of Omaha.

Trainer Nights

The return of the "No One Gets Dropped" Indoor Trainer Night will start November 7th @ 7 o'clock. These trainer nights will last roughly an hour. We will watch different training videos and enjoy each others conversation and suffering.Trainer nights will run weekly on Tuesday and Thursday nights 7pm - 8pm until February 22nd 2007.

There won't be Trainer Nights on the following dates:

  • Thursday November 24, 2006
  • Tuesday December 26, 2006
  • Thursday December 28, 2006
  • Tuesday January 2, 2007

If you don't have a trainer we will have trainers to rent for $3.00 per night. You are more than welcome to store trainers at the shop.

Saturday Morning Maintenance Clinics

Something new for us at Highgear is Saturday Morning Maintenance Clinics. We are very excited to introduce this service. Our goal is to help cyclists of all abilities have a better understanding of the mechanics and upkeep of their bicycle.

Paul Ullman, Highgear's service manager, will lead these Saturday Morning Maintenance Clinics beginning Saturday November 11 @ 11 o'clock. Each clinic will last roughly an hour or until all questions are answered.

Much of the clinic time will be spent on:
  • How to fix flats
  • How to lube a bicycle chain
  • Pre-ride check over
  • How to clean a bike

We will also touch on:

  • How to adjust brakes, derailleur, bearings
  • Wheel truing

Paul loves challenges, so please, bring lots of questions. If possible please RSVP, otherwise walk-ins are welcome.

Saturday Morning Maintenance Clinics are scheduled at 11am on these dates:

  • November 25, 2006
  • December 2, 2006
  • December 16, 2006
Saturday Morning Women's Maintenance Clinics

Paul will also be conducting Women's Only Saturday Morning Maintenance Clinics. These clinics are scheduled at 11am on the following dates:
  • November 18, 2006
  • December 9, 2006
