Omaha gets Zapped

Former Mountain Bike Action and Mountain Bike mag editor, And current Trek brand manager and MTB Hall of Fame member Zapata Espinoza dropped in at the Trek store yesterday for a few words. It was very cool and interesting to talk with him, too bad it had to be such a quick trip.

Custom Bike Night

Mark your calendars everyone. Highgear's 4'th annual Custom Bike Night is set. Saturday, January 28th, 7:00 pm. For those that already have one of are custom bikes please call or e-mail me @ scotthighgearomaha.com to set up a time to have your beauty cleaned adjusted and ready to show.
And for those of you that are looking for a new ride, save the date. You can come in and check out the hottest bikes in town.

The POLO CHAMPS!!

The Highgear Polo Champs were presented with the custom designed trophy on Wednesday.
Old GRAVY BOOTS as the trophy will now be known will stay at the champions place of business till the next championship match and then pass to the next winner.
The date for that match is yet to be announced.

Ride the Rockies

If there is anyone interested in doing Ride the Rockies please let me know at the store. The expected start date is June 18, More information to come when it is available.

Great turn out for Polo today

What a wonderful day 18 degrees and 18-20 people playing polo! What can I say Polo ROCKS!!
We had the War to settle the score. And well one team scored a few and the other team scored a few more. All in all it was a great time. Showing up from the Trek Store, Mod, MIB, Big Dean, Sarah, Lori, Charlie and Kristen. Way to answer the call!
And on the other side of the field there was another game going on Two Polo matches going on at the same time. Not for sure who all was there, some new faces and some old, LOTS of FUN was had by all.

Highgear employees and family members spent some time volunteering at the Open Door Mission tonight. It was a joy to be able to hand out hundreds of gift bags during Operation Santa! Santa even took a break to chat with Miss Wente and the Stock girls. (-:

The Highgear vs Trek Omaha bike polo match has been set Sunday Dec. 18 1:00 pm @ swanson park Bellevue NE. I would like to invite everyone out to watch HIGHGEAR Score at will. The mighty Trek Omaha store will not know what hit them once the HIGHGEAR steamroller starts.

In an effort to improve the user friendliness of our streets, various groups and individuals have organized and are attempting to make the Omaha Metro Area more Bicycle Friendly. A workshop was held in October that helped the community identify ways in becoming more bicycle friendly by:

1) assessing the conditions of bicycling in the community

2) providing an introduction of the issues affecting bicycle safety and use

3) creating an informed action plan to improve conditions for

bicycling

4) encouraging physical activity through bicycling in the community.
