Trainer nights are COMING!!!!!
Trainer nights are open to everyone. There are no divisions here, except that we ask you to have fun and enjoy your bike. Winter riding can be hard on the mind, and we have taken this into account and are changing up Trainer Nights a little this year.
However, a few things will change this year. We will be basing our trainer nights around movies, which will be provided, and it is now a ride at your own pace. So, now instead of watching people ride bikes, we'll be able to laugh, cry, cheer, and jeer to movies. Trainers will be provided, or you can bring your own. Another change for this year is that Trainer nights are now FREE!!!!!
So come in, ride, and make that New Year's resolution stick this year.

Swanson Trail Day
Sat Nov 17 8:30am - 12pm Swanson Park (map)
On 17 November from 8:30 – 12:00
THOR will be hosting a trail day at Swanson Park to:
- Reroute the downhill section vicinity of the Fire Department Training Area- Correct water drainage problems on Tetanus Ridge
- Add a new trail extension
Volunteers are requested to bring gloves a shovel, pick-axe, brush saw, loppers/clippers or commercial type rake to help cut in the two new trail sections and to help fix some erosion problems. Tools will be provided by THOR if you don't have any of your own.
The current downhill trail will be closed and replaced with a new downhill trail that follows the current IMBA guidance on building maintainable and sustainable trails. The current downhill trail is not within IMBA standards and remains in constant state of rain damage. Nearly 25% of all volunteer THOR trail day work for 2007 went into maintaining this 400+ foot section where we have to support over 5 miles of total trail. Look forward to seeing you there!

Dave Wiens was first across the line again on Saturday, but Floyd Landis - despite a bloody crash early on - finished right behind him in second.
Midwest Cycling Community members Steve Jarrett and Kent McNeill competed in the 2007 L’Etape Du Tour Mondevelo on July 16th. Just close to 7,000 amateurs were present in Foix, France to test their skills on one of this year’s hardest mountain stages in the Tour de France that will be raced on Monday, July 23rd. The race claimed over 40% of it’s participants in the sweep buses by the end of the day.
Despite being flatlanders from the Midwest in a stage that boasted over 15,000 feet of climbing, with 5 mountain passes over 124 miles, McNeill and Jarrett were able to finish with respectable times. McNeill finished 129th overall with a time of 7hrs 34minutes while Jarrett finished 683rd with a time of 8hrs 32 minutes coming in just ahead of Greg LeMond who finished 812th in a time of 8 hrs 41 minutes.
Also, Kent McNeill, completed the Leadville 100 MTB Enduro. Kent came in 53rd overall and 23rd in his age category. With the Leadville result and the Etape Kent has shown that us in the Midwest can throw it down with the best in the world. Congrats go out to anyone that goes out and enjoys their bike like a kid and continues to support a community in motion.
