Discovery Channel rider, and American road race champion, George Hincapie stormed to a third place finish in the Prologue stage of the Tour de France aboard his Trek TTX. Hincapie finished just 23 seconds down on World Time Trial Champion, Fabian Cancellara, who was aboard his Cervelo P3, as he stormed to a near record prologue speed. Cancellara covered the 5 mile course with an average speed of 33.32 MPH. With a flat stage on Sunday from London to Canterbury, it will be a stage for the sprinters, rather than the overall men. With riders such as American Levi Leipheimer and George Hincapie, as well as young Spaniard Alberto Contador, much is expected of Discovery this year. Will we see another American on the podium in Paris? Keep tuning in for updates on the Tour and Discovery Channel riders.
